Hey all! I am posting this article about “predestination” by John Piper who is a well known modern day theologian. I found it just a couple of days ago, so I apologize for getting it out the week that we are talking about “predestination” in our study “What if they asked.” If you have already met with your groups this week, I would still suggest reading it. This article might help clear up some of the reasons why we need to talk about it. If you like it, maybe you can bring it up in your groups and talk about why you think “predestination” is an important issue which we, as believers, need to talk about.
here it is!

Also, I would love to create some dialogue with you guys on this blog, so please let me know what you think about this article!
Hope your week is going well
Blessing

I think I have an issue with the line – “You can’t point to anything in your life that excludes you from election. Therefore believe and prove that you are elect! I think that has tremendous power to free people.”
After all Paul has done in the book of Romans up to this point in our study, telling us to now go out and “prove” we are elect seems to place some heavy weight on our works… right?
Let me just say that, at the end of the day, I’m stoked to get a resource that will help us with our discussion – thanks for posting this!
